Evan Miller is excited to be the new Drumline and Front Ensemble Instructor for the Leyden Music Department!
My Story
Evan Miller is a percussionist and educator based in the Chicago area. He earned his Master of Music degree from Northern Illinois University, where he studied percussion, after completing his Bachelor of Music Education degree at South Dakota State University.
Since beginning his percussion studies at age 10, Evan has developed extensive experience performing and teaching across a wide range of percussion disciplines, including drum set, orchestral percussion, marching percussion, keyboard percussion, and Afro-Cuban styles. His diverse musical background allows him to work with students and ensembles in a variety of settings and performance traditions.
Most recently, Mr. Miller has performed with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra and has collaborated on numerous chamber music projects alongside fellow percussionists and string musicians. He is passionate about helping students develop strong musical foundations while fostering creativity, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
